Pastel painting of a beautiful Red Fox, one of my favorite and most popular subjects. I love the way sunlight brings out the rich russets and golds of her fur, and the lights in those alert, watching eyes. All of creation is fascinating, but I especially enjoy painting animals and birds. They are so filled with life and energy and there is no end to the lessons that can be learned from them.
This was painted on suede pastel paper using Pan Pastels to render the soft fur with a few details and finishing touches done in pastel sticks and fine pastel pencils.
"Vixen" is sold matted with a white mat and framed in a black frame. The finished size is 16 x 16.
